About The Position

The Emerging Talent Summit is an immersive, hands-on experience designed for early-career students who are curious about what it takes to build a career in corporate retail. Participants will gain exposure to Belk and explore career pathways within Merchandise Buying and Planning, while developing the foundational skills needed to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment. Learn about Belk and career pathways in Merchandise Buying and Planning Network with former program alumni to learn about their experience and starting a career at Belk Develop Excel skills to assess, understand, and analyze retail business performance, enabling data-driven insights and actionable recommendations Team up to complete a hands-on case study that brings the work to life Jump-start the recruiting process for the Summer 2027 internship cycle while gaining clarity on the skills, experiences, and competencies needed for a career in corporate retail

Requirements

  • Sophomore or freshman status working toward a bachelor’s degree and relevant coursework within Fashion Merchandising & Buying, Retail Planning, Merchandise Planning, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Supply Chain & Analytics, or Marketing Analtyics
  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
  • At least 6 months of retail experience
  • Passion for retail
  • Curiosity about a career in corporate retail
  • Ability to thrive and collaborate in team-based settings
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to learn more!
