About The Position

As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of adult clients in a residential behavioral health setting. This position involves supporting clients with daily living skills, engaging in therapeutic and recreational group activities, and responding to behavioral health crises when needed. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to model healthy behaviors, and a commitment to client-centered, recovery-focused care. The Ridgeway Program Ridgeway is a ten bed, all female, Intensive Residential Treatment Service (IRTS) that provides a high level of direct service and supports for individuals living with chronic mental health diagnoses (i.e., anxiety, bi-polar, depression, personality disorders, etc.) that often involve severe behavioral and emotional issues resulting in guardianship. Due to the program's population, and being an all female facility, it is a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) that only female employees are allowed to work within the Ridgeway Program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED/HSE required.
  • Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to those with at least two years' experience in Healthcare or Mental Health field or with an undergraduate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, trauma-informed environment that promotes comfort and healing
  • Support daily living and self-care skills, including hygiene, medication routines, and household tasks
  • Teach critical life skills like emotional regulation, social skills, relaxation techniques, and coping strategies
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure care is coordinated and client-centered
  • Accurately document observations and interventions according to clinical, agency, and regulatory standards
  • Conduct routine checks (rooms, belongings, and grounds) to maintain safety
  • Transport clients to appointments, activities, or outings as needed
  • Respond to crises, including behavioral interventions and emergency procedures
  • Distribute and track medications following agency protocols and reporting any discrepancies immediately
