The Behavioral Health Technician I position is responsible for providing direct and supportive care to clients/patients. This role involves general oversight of day-to-day activities, redirection of clients/patients, health monitoring (including vital signs), crisis intervention, and communication with the treatment team. Technicians facilitate group education and structured activities, and may transport clients/patients as needed. Key responsibilities include understanding client/patient treatment plans, monitoring and documenting behavior, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment. The position encompasses duties specific to residential facilities, withdrawal management, and residential care facilities, such as admitting, supervising, monitoring, transferring, and discharging clients, overseeing medication administration, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. For all locations, the technician encourages program adherence, participates in the treatment team, documents client behaviors, assists with admissions, facilitates urine collection, manages telephone communications, assists with daily activities, monitors client presence in scheduled activities, fosters adaptive behavior, monitors general health conditions, and facilitates rehabilitative groups and transportation.
