The Behavioral Health Technician I position is responsible for providing direct and supportive care to clients/patients. Duties generally include, but are not limited to, providing general oversight of day to day activities and at times, redirect of clients/patients; health monitoring (vital signs), intervene/respond to crisis and communicate with established treatment team, facilitate group education/structured activities, and/or transport clients/patients as needed. Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for possessing a basic understanding of client/patient treatment plan, monitoring and documenting client/patient behavior and providing safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for clients/patients. Essential Job Functions include admitting, supervising, monitoring, transferring, and discharging clients/patients, ensuring vital sign monitoring and escalation when critical symptoms present, overseeing medication administration, maintaining accurate medication records, screening for withdrawal symptoms, facilitating supervision checks, assisting with personal care in RCF, encouraging program adherence, participating in treatment teams, documenting behavior, assisting with admission/orientation, facilitating urine collection, operating telephone systems, assisting with daily activities, monitoring client activities, fostering adaptive behavior, ensuring precaution protocols, assisting with general health conditions, facilitating group support/education, providing client transportation, maintaining professional behavior, completing mandatory trainings, attending meetings, maintaining a safe and clean environment, reporting maintenance issues, and adhering to policies and procedures.
