About The Position

The Behavioral Health Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of behavioral health services to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality care delivery. This role partners closely with clinical leadership to optimize workflows, improve performance metrics, and ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in driving productivity, managing staff performance, and supporting strategic initiatives across behavioral health programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, preferably in behavioral health
  • Experience managing teams and overseeing performance metrics
  • Familiarity with Medicaid/managed care environments strongly preferred
  • Strong operational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of behavioral health workflows and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or related) preferred
  • Familiarity with Medicaid/managed care environments strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of behavioral health programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and service delivery standards
  • Monitor workflow efficiency, patient throughput, and service utilization
  • Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including caseload productivity, documentation timeliness, and no-show rates
  • Develop and execute performance improvement plans where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Medicaid, state agencies, accreditation bodies)
  • Supervise non-clinical and/or operational staff, i.e. administrative personnel
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to staff
  • Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning and staffing models
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and organizational policies
  • Oversee credentialing coordination and operational compliance workflows
  • Partner with clinical, finance, IT, and other internal teams to support program initiatives
  • Generate regular operational reports and dashboards
  • Use data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
