About The Position

Are you a compassionate and skilled mental health professional seeking to make a meaningful impact in an integrated care environment? Join Adult & Child Health as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) and play a key role in providing evidence-based behavioral health services within our Behavioral Crisis Center. As a Behavioral Health Consultant , you will work collaboratively with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Psychiatrists as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide clinical intakes, crisis services, and therapeutic interventions to address behavioral health and substance use concerns. Your work will focus on stabilizing clients, promoting coping skills, and supporting seamless coordination of care across behavioral and medical services. Our ideal candidate is a master’s level licensed provider passionate about integrated care, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapy. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field or a PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Current unrestricted license: LCSW, LPC, PhD, or PsyD (required).
  • Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, crisis intervention, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Understanding of integrated care and multidisciplinary collaboration within behavioral health and medical settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple clinical priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce clear documentation and effectively communicate with team members.
  • Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical and professional standards.
  • Ability to follow direction, accept supervision, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, utilization management, and quality improvement processes.
  • Successful completion of background, driving record, and fingerprint checks.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
  • Compliance with all training requirements, including Relias modules at onboarding and annually thereafter.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • ADA Consideration – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Frequent repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms are required for documentation and communication. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may include brief periods of standing or walking.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience (preferred).
  • Experience working in medical or crisis care settings (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical intakes, same-day consultations, targeted assessments, and brief therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide follow-up, bridge therapy, and ongoing interventions to assist clients with crisis management, coping strategies, and behavioral health needs.
  • Routinely engage clients to evaluate progress and adjust treatment plans based on individual needs and goals.
  • Collaborate daily with the medical and nursing team, providing real-time clinical feedback and participating in case planning and aftercare coordination.
  • Support the Behavioral Crisis Center team in identifying and addressing behavioral health, emotional, crisis, or substance use disorder needs across all units.
  • Manage active and new client needs while maintaining a small caseload of ongoing therapy or bridge clients when appropriate.
  • Develop and implement specific, goal-oriented treatment interventions using evidence-based practices and routine outcome monitoring tools.
  • Provide education and resources to clients to promote effective coping strategies and ongoing behavioral health stability.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships within the treatment team to ensure integrated, high-quality care.
  • Maintain complete and timely documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in professional development activities, such as conferences, trainings, and community collaboration, to enhance clinical skills and maintain professional growth.
