About The Position

Provides group, individual and family therapy to adolescents in an Acute Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient programming setting for patients age 13 to 18 years of age if they are still in high school. 1. Facilitate group therapy sessions in need of acute services. 2. Provide individual and family-based therapeutic interventions. 3. Completing and analyzing evidenced based screening tools and assessments. 4. Along with patient, parent/guardian, develop treatment plans, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns. 5. Manage case load comprised of moderate to high acuity patients. 6. Able to conduct multiple psycho-educational, therapeutic and skills groups and individual therapy services. 7. Collaborate with other mental health and educational professionals to coordinate care. 8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation records. 9. Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. 10. Work within a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. 11. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health. 12. Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling
  • State of NJ - LSW or LCSW or LPC license
  • Previous clinical/counseling experience with pediatric population
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, screens effectively for suicide and violence risk as well as abuse and neglect.
  • Training and experience in Didactic Behavioral and/or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy preferred.
  • Ability to multi - task, organize & prioritize workload required.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently to make complex decision making with high degree of accuracy.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient centered goals, utilizes evidence based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the presenting problem(s).
  • Can build rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, uses active listening skills, reflective statements and nonjudgemental language, conveys understanding and acceptance without reinforcing maladaptive behaviors.
  • Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, manages caseload effectively.
  • Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships
