This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking and talented team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the development, design, test, and manufacturing of the BE-4 Thrust Chamber Assembly (TCA) and future derivatives. Starting with proposal support, risk assessments and Continuous Improvement initiatives Interfacing with customers, Chief Engineer and senior leadership. you will facilitate multi-board designs through development, eventually transitioning a flight-ready product to the manufacturing and test engineering teams. You will take charge of the TCA in project teams, help develop processes, lead design reviews, and collaborate with customers. This includes team task management, reviewing the work of other team members, and documenting work appropriately to get to “done.” Develop the technical roadmap for the TCA in order to meet longer term program goals. Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired)
  • Subject matter expert in combustion devices through design, manufacturing and development
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and data processing
  • Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, thermodynamics, and combustion analysis
  • Strong knowledge of hardware fabrication, integration processes and quality control
  • Computer aided design (CAD) experience. Highly competent at managing large assemblies and Bills of Material in CAD.
  • Expert at leveraging GD&T to streamline manufacturing and costs, can peer review teammate's use of GD&T for best practices.
  • MRE Certified
  • 3+ years of industry experience in related field with increasing level of responsibility and track record of going above and beyond to get the job done when needed.
  • Expert in product compliance and ensuring our hardware has a strong pedigree for customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Co-located in Huntsville, AL at the Explorer Facility
  • M.S. in engineering discipline or higher or equivalent industry experience
  • Familiarity with analytical packages ANSYS, COMSOL, Fluent, CFX, Thermal Desktop, ROCETS or ROCCID
  • Strong knowledge of entire combustion devices life cycle from design, development, qualification, acceptance and production
  • Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10
