About The Position

Gregory Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Batch Plant Operator to support mobile concrete batch plant operations across Texas. This is a full-time position (40+ hours per week) with overtime available and requires travel to multiple job sites. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in fast-paced construction environments. This is a traveling, outdoor role involving setup, operation, and teardown of mobile batch plants. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and job site environments. Overnight or extended travel may be required depending on project needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of concrete batching or related construction experience preferred
  • Experience operating concrete batch plants or similar heavy equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of concrete mix designs, testing, and quality control standards
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills for production and maintenance reporting

Nice To Haves

  • ACI certification or other concrete-related certifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • CDL, depending on equipment and job site requirements

Responsibilities

  • Operate mobile concrete batch plants to produce concrete in accordance with approved mix designs and project specifications
  • Accurately batch cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures to ensure consistent quality
  • Monitor and adjust batching processes to meet slump, temperature, air content, and strength requirements
  • Operate and monitor mixers, conveyors, batch controllers, and related equipment
  • Transport, set up, and tear down batch plant equipment at various job sites
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and basic repairs to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate production, quality control, inspection, and maintenance records
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, supervisors, and job site personnel for timely concrete delivery
  • Monitor material inventory and communicate needs to prevent shortages or delays
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, or equipment issues immediately
  • Assist with training or mentoring plant assistants or new operators as needed
