About The Position

The Basketball Program Director will serve as Varsity Head Coach and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the basketball program sponsored by the school for 5th -12th grades. The Program Director is a key collaborator in the implementation of the entire basketball program, including participation in the growth of the school's athletic philosophy, coordinating the program with those of other coaches, and assisting the general evaluation of programs and coaches of other sports. The Program Director is responsible for promoting the highest level of sportsmanship by fully supporting and enforcing all the regulations of all the athletic associations of which Holy Cross is a member as well as the school's regulations. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader, committed to Holy Cross School's mission, purpose, and culture with an excellent ability to be a positive ambassador and advocate for the school. The Basketball Program Director must have exceptional character and will be a key brand ambassador for Holy Cross School in the community, ensuring families, community partners and other stakeholders view Holy Cross School as an outstanding Catholic school that prioritizes relationships and prepares our students for their future. The Basketball Program Director and Varsity Head Coach will report to the Director of Athletics.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a college or university approved by a regional accrediting organization.
At least five (5) years coaching at the high school level or experience playing or coaching at the collegiate level.
Exceptional leadership, managerial and organizational skills
Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Hold or be working toward a valid teaching certificate for the State of Louisiana
Must pass extensive background check.
Ability to create a cohesive presence with School Leadership, Holy Cross Educators, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
Strong character with high moral and ethical values.
Effective communicator and collaborator with ability to work as a member of a dynamic and high-performing team.
Proven leadership, supervision, and teambuilding skills.
