About The Position

Summary Following the mission of The Blake School and the core purposes of the athletic department, the head girls basketball coach will direct, serve and coordinate the Blake School Girls Basketball program. The Blake Girls Basketball Program competes in the Independent Metro Athletic Conference, which is part of the Minnesota State High School League.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and strategy
• Passion for working with high school student-athletes
• Experience coaching and demonstrated success at the high school or collegiate level
• Ability to combine and balance team building with individual skill building
• A deep sense of integrity and fairness and a commitment to modeling Blake’s values of curiosity, kindness, inclusivity and resilience
• A vision for the girls basketball program

Responsibilities

• Player development and education
• Planning and coordinating of all schedules and practice
• Assist in selection of assistant coaches
• Assist in aspects of growing the game within our community
• Provide on and off-court training opportunities that include instruction, management and teaching of all student athletes
• Organizing game scouting and planning
• Communicating to players and parents
• Guiding players interested in collegiate basketball through the process
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
