About The Position

Bartenders are in charge of managing drink orders to keep customers satisfied during meals or social gatherings. Bartenders have extensive knowledge of craft cocktail creation as well as common drinks, which they use to recommend drinks to customers, prepare cocktails, pour beers, and properly decant wines. Bartenders also entertain customers who sit at the bar by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer service while filling drink orders for other customers. Their role is to ensure that customers are of legal drinking age and then prepare a requested drink to bar specifications.

Requirements

Prior experience in an establishment with bar & food service
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages and knowledgeable of different types of cuisines
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods
Food Handlers Certificate
Responsible Beverage Service Certificate

Responsibilities

Welcome guests to the bar with outstanding hospitality
Verify identification and age requirements of customers
Mix traditional and creative cocktails per menu specs
Process payment from customers
Clean glasses and bar utensils
Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
Record and balance receipts and prepare daily reports
Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
Associates will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor.
