About The Position

Baristas are responsible for operating our Gramma Betty's outlet. Baristas will prepare a variety of beverages along with food items for our guests in a friendly and efficient manner, while enhancing the quality of our customer service. Baristas will work in close collaboration with colleagues and follow established health and safety standards and enhance the service and goals set by Antelope Point Marina.

Requirements

Previous barista or food service experience preferred, but not required
Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso machines (training available)
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Dependable and punctual
Ability to stand for extended periods
Food Handler’s Card (required prior to start date)

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a barista or in the food and beverage industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a polite, positive manner and create an atmosphere of hospitality
Take customer orders, answer questions about the menu items and make recommendations
Prepare and serve beverages and food items according to customer preferences and established recipes
Possess a working knowledge of all food, beverage, and specials on offer for our guests
Convey all pertinent guest information to staff and management
Ensure guest satisfaction and assist guests in their dining experience
Check on guests periodically to ensure all needs are met to their satisfaction
Operate point of sale system to accurately process payments
Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other equipment to prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, tea and speciality drinks
Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment, providing correct change and receipts
Work closely with colleagues to relay pertinent information and function efficiently as a team
Must work efficiently and in a timely manner even during times of increased business
Maintain cleanliness and health code standards of the restaurant
Possess the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assigned.
