About The Position

The Gift Shop Cashier/Barista position contributes to Caesars Hotel success by providing extraordinary guest service to all guests. This role provides guests with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable shop.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience working in gift shop and coffee shop establishment preferred
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance
  • Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification in English
  • Must have a pleasant, poised personality.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and hotel.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, and photocopier.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for guests, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team.
  • Anticipates guests and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
  • Engage with and understand our guests, including discovering and responding to guest needs through clear and pleasant communication
  • Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a successful environment during each shift.
  • Assists with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
  • Delivers extraordinary services to all guests by connecting with the guest and saying “thank you” to every guest.
  • Discovers and responds to guest needs.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace to efficiently locate resources and products as needed.
  • Provides quality beverages and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines
  • Follows cash handling and register policies
  • Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods.
  • Maintains merchandise on display neatly and in proper area.
