About The Position

At Mission Point Resort—Mackinac Island’s only full-service, casually elegant resort—our Banquets Team brings weddings, conferences, and special events to life. We are seeking a polished, organized, and service-focused Banquet Supervisor to support the planning and execution of high-quality events that leave a lasting impression on guests. The Banquet Supervisor provides hands-on leadership during event setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring each function runs smoothly and adheres to resort standards. This role includes supervising banquet staff, coordinating with the culinary and events departments, maintaining event timelines, and ensuring a professional, guest-ready environment at all times. You’ll thrive in this role if you excel at leading teams, solving problems on the fly, and creating memorable, seamless guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1–2 years of banquet, catering, food & beverage, or event operations experience; previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality or leadership training a plus
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate, train, and direct a diverse team with professionalism and confidence
  • Guest Service: Warm, attentive, and skilled at providing elevated service in a fast-paced event environment
  • Organization: Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to follow event orders with accuracy
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication with staff, managers, and event clients
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for extended periods, and support event setups and breakdowns
  • Location Requirement: Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the season
