About The Position

The Banquet Server delivers polished, efficient service for meetings, weddings, and special events. You’ll set and strike rooms, execute buffet and plated service, and ensure guests have a seamless experience—on time, to spec, and with a gracious attitude.

Requirements

  • Prior banquet/catering or restaurant serving experience preferred (will train dependable, guest-focused candidates).
  • Knowledge of basic service standards (plated/buffet/family-style) and wine/beer basics.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; calm under pressure.
  • Able to read and follow BEOs and timelines; attention to detail and professional appearance.
  • Flexible availability, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Stand/walk for extended periods; carry trays up to 25–30 lbs; lift/push/pull up to 40–50 lbs (chairs, tables, buffets).
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stair use; work in fast-paced environments and around cleaning/sanitizing chemicals (PPE provided).

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications (preferred): Food Handler; TIPS/ServSafe Alcohol (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Event Setup/Strike: Read BEOs; set tables, linens, serviceware, buffets, bars, and décor to specifications; break down and reset rooms post-event.
  • Service Execution: Provide professional plated, family-style, or buffet service; tray-pass hors d’oeuvres; offer coffee/tea and wine service; replenish stations.
  • Guest Care: Greet guests warmly, anticipate needs, handle requests and allergies/dietary notes, and escalate issues to the Banquet Captain.
  • Standards & Safety: Follow food handling, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines; maintain clean side stations and service areas.
  • Timing & Coordination: Follow event timelines and cues; communicate with culinary, bar, and AV to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Inventory & Stewarding: Count and control china, glass, silver, linens; minimize breakage and waste; return items to proper storage.
  • Cash/Checks (as applicable): Process tickets or hosted/consumption charges accurately; follow tip reporting and company policies.
  • Other Duties: Complete side work, polish flatware/glassware, and assist with other F&B outlets as needed.
