About The Position

The Banquet Captain is responsible for leading and managing banquet events, ensuring the highest level of service and guest satisfaction. This role involves coordinating with various departments, supervising staff, and overseeing the seamless execution of events from setup to breakdown.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a banquet captain. Hotel banquet experience is a must, luxury hotel banquet and/or fine dining experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems such as Excel, Word, POS, Delphi.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and skill for taking initiative, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritizing.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming.
  • Knowledge of various room set-ups and standard equipment involved.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend repetitively.
  • Food Handler Certificate.
  • Must be TIPS/RBS certified.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes.
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the resort.
  • Coordinate meeting spaces for banquet and catering events to ensure compliance with banquet event orders (BEO) with level of service, quality and hospitality.
  • Work with kitchen staff on the timing of food preparation to ensure that meals are ready on time in accordance with the event order.
  • Adhere and ensure that the required sanitation procedures are met for food handling safety.
  • Complete guest checks with accuracy and provide outstanding guest services.
  • Ability and willingness to follow established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work with Delphi to close banquet checks.
  • Ability to print and upkeep Banquet Event Order Books.
