About The Position

Fairmont Dallas, located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, offers 545 elegant guestrooms and suites, with over 73,000 square feet of banqueting and meeting space. For over fifty years, the Fairmont Dallas has been the setting for countless civic, social, cultural, convention and corporate events, but more importantly the setting for thousands of memories. Set up assigned tables, retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to Hotel specifications and group requirements, courteously and efficiently. Take beverage orders and collect payments where specified. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • 1 year experience as a Restaurant or Banquet Food Server.
  • Food handling certificate.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal..
  • Provide legible communication.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to: perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to: prioritize and organize.
  • Ability to: be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
  • Ability to: follow directions thoroughly.
  • Ability to: understand guest’s service needs.
  • Ability to: work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to: work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to: maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Knowledge of various food service styles (i.e., French service, Russian service, tableside flambe service, Butler style service).

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
  • Previous Culinary training.
  • Knowledge of specific room set-up styles.
  • Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
  • Certification in an alcoholic awareness program.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Ability to suggestively sell.
  • Previous guest relations training.
