Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
  • Knowledge of customer service, catering operations and safe food service practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move/transport up to 50lbs.

  • Experience with high volume off-site catering in a University setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and assist with the setup, service and breakdown of events, ensuring that all aspects run smoothly.
  • Greets and welcome guests, assist with seating and food service.
  • Responsible for assisting with the set-up, service and clean-up of all assigned banquet functions; sometimes multiple events in a day.
  • Coordinates orders and table service.
  • Serves food and beverages to guests efficiently, ensuring proper presentations and timing.
  • Works collaboratively with the Event Planning team to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Addresses any unexpected changes such as; increase in attendees, changes in dietary restrictions and staffing adjustments.
  • Acts as a point of contact for the client and/or host; Addresses and resolves client complaints.
  • Anticipates potential issues during events and proactively resolve them.
  • Assists in the training and mentoring of food service staff.
  • Monitors and maintains banquet supplies.
  • Ensures all supplies are in good working condition before each event and request replacements as necessary.
  • Ensures safe handling of food and sanitation of equipment.
  • Handles customer complaints promptly and work to find a resolution.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
