A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BALER Safely operate baler to prepare 1200-1500 pound bales for shipment. Complete with all agency safety policies and DOT guidelines.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Capable to operate baling machine
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Able to operate counterbalance scale to weigh bails
  • Able to work independently but also foster teamwork
  • Must have a physician-certified disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act per the requirements of Goodwill's State Use Contracts
  • You must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate baler to prepare 1200-1500 pound bales for shipment.
  • Count number of articles to be banded to verify number on work order.
  • Load materials into baling machine.
  • Unwind plastic or metal banding material from reel, wrap band around stack or bundle, inserts loose end of banding material into strapping tool and cinches and crimps banding material and clamp with strapping tool to secure articles during storage or shipment.
  • Complete with all agency safety policies and DOT guidelines.
