The balance technician will independently and safely set up and operate various types of manual machining equipment working under the direction of the balance certifier.

  • Previous manual machining experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • US Person (Green Card Holder or United States Citizen) due to government contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, operation sheets and CMM inspection reports to produce complex finished product.
  • Set up tooling adjustments and mechanical machine adjustments, as necessary.
  • Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments including gages, indicators, and micrometers.
  • Perform daily TPM responsibilities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment, as required.
  • Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes.
  • Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.
  • Work with the balance certifier to obtain a level two of training. This will include theory and proficiency with Ab10, VE3L, and a Pasio 50 balance instruments and various Bridgeport's to manually remove stock to obtain in tolerance product.
