Chebeague Island Inn, part of the Prentice Hospitality Group portfolio, is a 21-room boutique hotel nestled on 2.5 acres of oceanfront property on Chebeague Island, ME, offering panoramic views of Casco Bay. It provides an intimate, tranquil escape with serene rooms, blending classic New England charm with warm, personalized service for weddings and getaways. We are seeking part-time Back of the House Restaurant Help for a seasonal team. This role is vital to the day-to-day restaurant operations, including cooking, dishwashing, and food preparation. Specific responsibilities may change daily based on operational needs. This is a part-time seasonal role from mid-May to early October, and candidates need reliable transportation to the island or housing there.
Requirements
- Previous hospitality and kitchen experience (cooking, dishwashing, food preparation)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, standards, and plating guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety and health code regulations (FIFO, proper storage, temp checks)
- Work efficiently and communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory
- Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and maintain composure during peak hours
- Support team members across stations as needed
