Program Info Intensive Family Support Services (IFSS) provides support services to the families of the mentally ill through a network of social, community and group gatherings. IFSS services include educational presentations, one-on-one counseling and intervention, as well as respite care to lighten the load for families caring for mentally ill loved ones. IFSS can help your family navigate the mental health system to get access to the services you’re entitled to. IFSS also seeks to help reduce the burden and frustration that often goes hand in hand with caring for a family member with a serious mental illness. Our IFSS team is experienced in communicating on your behalf with other provider agencies that can be of value to your loved ones. Through IFSS, families can also learn skills to help them be effective advocates for themselves and their mentally ill relatives. We offer workshops throughout the year on medications, treatment options and coping strategies. Guest speakers cover a wide range of topics from relapse, crisis intervention and estate/future planning to employment and housing options.
