We are seeking a hands-on Microsoft Azure Solution Engineer with strong expertise in both data engineering and application development to design, build, and optimize end-to-end cloud solutions. This role combines deep technical execution with architectural vision, ensuring our Azure platforms follow best practices, meet enterprise standards, and deliver high performance, scalability, and security. You will play a key role in building modern, cloud-native applications and data solutions that leverage Azure services effectively, while working closely with stakeholders to align technical outcomes with business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building solutions on Azure.
• Strong proficiency in Azure application development (App Services, Functions, AKS, Logic Apps) and Azure data services (Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL).
• Solid coding skills in C#, .NET, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture, design patterns, and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work in person at least four days per week in NYC.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must be willing to work additional hours as needed to complete deadline driven projects.

Nice To Haves

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Azure Developer Associate.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms (Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus).
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration using Azure Machine Learning and LLMs such as OpenAI / LLaMa or similar.

Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Architecture Architect and implement secure, scalable Azure-based solutions spanning data pipelines, storage, analytics, and application services.
• Apply Azure Well-Architected Framework principles to optimize cost, performance, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
• Select the right Azure services for both data and application workloads, balancing trade-offs between speed, flexibility, and cost.
• Work with Infrastructure Engineers to come up with the optimal design.
• Application Development & Integration Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications using Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and related technologies.
• Integrate applications with Azure-based data platforms (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL).
• Implement APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures following best practices.
• Data Engineering & Analytics Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Stream Analytics.
• Design and maintain data models, warehouses, and lakes that support BI and advanced analytics.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance controls are in place.
• Best Practices & Governance Enforce coding standards, version control, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM).
• Implement role-based access control, network security, and compliance measures.
• Mentor teams on Azure design patterns, performance tuning, and operational excellence.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Partner with architects, developers, and analysts to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Stay current with Azure releases and industry trends, recommending enhancements to existing architectures.
