About The Position

Under the direction of the Vice President, Store Director, the AVP, Store Manager is responsible for increasing the sales of our Top Sellers by focusing on driving the selling process through developing and managing effective selling teams and creating a service and selling culture that delivers results. The AVP, Store Manager is responsible for building and leading a high performance selling organization; driving performance through direct oversight of the selling process, and coaching managers to effectively motivate the selling team to achieve selling goals, while ensuring that the customer service experience as delivered by the store team consistently exceeds customer expectations. The AVP, Store Manager understands that the success of the organization is tied to the quality and performance of the team, and is responsible for developing, motivating and retaining top talent in order to drive sales results and maximize store volume.

  • 12+ years of management experience with luxury retailers or comparable experience.
  • Established relationships with Top Sellers within and outside of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Selling Culture Create a strategic vision around selling and clienteling behaviors. Rally support from the team to implement. Through strong selling floor presence and hands on coaching of store leadership and the selling management team, positively impacts the sales and productivity of the selling organization. Promote a clienteling culture that supports the Saks philosophy and drives the use of technology. Ad hoc responsibilities as needed
  • Marketing In partnership with the Marketing Director, oversee the development of the strategic roadmap to engage top/high net worth clients as well as elevate overall market position. Maintain relationships within the community to meet and retain target customers and to identify marketing opportunities.
  • Talent Development Oversee top level sellers, including the Fifth Avenue Club (Personal Shopping Service), Digital, and Social. Be Responsible for developing the Assistant General Managers to promotability. Know competitors' top talent selling associates. Provide leadership and motivation to the Fifth Avenue Club (Personal Shopping Service) and Digital & Social businesses to drive selling and clienteling.
  • Product Work with Director of Store Merchandising to address major, customer-focused matrix needs and vendor requests Has a point of view on communicating to the merchant organization regarding merchandise matrix.
