We are seeking an experienced professional help grow our Rail & Transit practice with their deep expertise in areas such as O&M cost modelling, business planning/modelling, ancillary revenue forecasting, preparation and due diligence of financial models, and P3 advisory. Working as part of our Rail and Transit team, this role will be responsible for delivering detailed components of complex transportation and rail projects, as well as business development with new clients. The preferred candidate will have strong technical skills in Commercial Advisory, especially within the rail and transit sector.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the transportation industry with an emphasis on the commercial aspects of rail and transit delivery, preferably including private sector participation in delivery.
  • Technical background in relevant areas. Examples include, but are not limited to, business case/strategic case development, procurement/bid support to deliver rail and transit services, funding/financing strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in growing commercial advisory services, working directly with clients and senior decision-makers and leading projects that tackle complex transportation and rail challenges.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transportation and rail projects and work directly with a range of clients and senior decision-makers.

  • Experience in a consultancy environment delivering similar services is preferred.
  • Current network of clients and clear identification of opportunities and trends in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Project or technical leader on portfolio of projects – focused on or including Commercial Advisory services, ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining the highest quality standards and client satisfaction.
  • Manage risk adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Balancing client objectives with detailed reviews and delivery tasks as needed.
  • Grow the Commercial Advisory portfolio, promoting and marketing Steer’s Commercial Advisory services to existing and new clients.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support business development efforts, including pre-positioning, proposal development, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Leverage your personal expertise and represent Steer externally, promoting its values and capabilities in the marketplace.
  • Develop and mentor staff, focusing on technical skill development, career development, and performance management.
  • Contribute to Commercial Advisory services capability development and knowledge sharing across Steer.
  • Provide leadership and support to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing work environment.
  • Cross sell services across the Steer Group portfolio.
