Part of Artex Risk (www.artexrisk.com), the AVP-Business Development will develop and acquire new business revenue from new and existing clients and assigned prospects in identified sectors or market area. They will develop and maintain a distribution of broker partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required OR High School Diploma/GED and 8 years experience.
  • Appropriate insurance licensing required.
  • Act independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of proven experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in selling alternative risk products.
  • Extensive knowledge and in-depth understanding of the insurance industry and our products and services.
  • Experience within the insurance industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to adhere to and champion the sales process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in alternative risk products to broker partners and both mid-market and large accounts.
  • Identify client needs and develop custom solutions.
  • Client-facing with a track record of working effectively with decision-makers within clients.
  • Establish and develop emerging relationships with economic buyers of varying complexity.
  • Provide technical competency to create innovative solutions.
  • Establish credibility (knowledge/trust) both externally as well as internally.
  • Possess senior executive client communication and negotiation skills (oral and written)
  • Communicate market/industry perspectives and applications to specific client situations.
  • Communicate and capture the value that Artex brings to clients.
  • Demonstrate new business production abilities as well as a seasoned new business production history.
  • Ability to generate $500,000 or greater in new business revenue.
