About The Position

The position requires the ability to test and repair line replaceable units fabricate and install avionics and electrical systems per wiring, diagrams with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Requires High School Education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
  • Three to five years airplane/ back-shop / electronics experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of basic aircraft and electrical tools, including soldering.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan work.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours or second shift, when needed.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, while setting a positive example for all employees.
  • Familiar with IPC 610.
  • Read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • FCC preferred.
  • Certificated per FAR Part 65 preferred; Repairman’s or Airframe & Powerplant licenses, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, adjust, and repair ALOFT manufactured (or otherwise authorized to repair) electrical components.
  • Utilize various testing devices, meters, and electricians’ tools to inspect, test and repair wiring and components of various aircraft systems.
  • Read and interpret wiring schematics, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Engineering Repair Drawings, and Component Maintenance Manuals for repairs and modifications.
  • Bench test and replace defective instruments and / or gages using electricians’ tools and other testing devices.
  • Assemble and connect system / sub-system components.
  • Build aircraft wiring harnesses utilizing wiring marking machines; terminate ends utilizing pin kits, soldering irons, solder sleeves, heat guns, crimp terminals, etc.
  • Calibrate installed or repaired equipment to specification.
  • Assemble and repair hole and surface mount PCB and wire harnesses.
  • Accomplish any required operational checks.
  • Maintain ESD compliance throughout work area.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with IPC-610 while performing repairs.
  • Accomplish planned work in compliance with Company process standards and procedures.
  • Inspect components and sub-components, document and report any unairworthy items.
  • Assure all documentation and paperwork requirements are kept current with job progress.
  • Advise management of issues that require engineering assistance.
  • Maintain and record accurate time accounting records in CIMA.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
