About The Position

RS&H is seeking a motivated and experienced mid‑career Aviation Planner to support planning projects and contribute to the continued growth of our Aviation Market from Denver, Colorado. We are looking for a professional with strong analytical and communication skills, a passion for aviation, and a desire to support airport owners as they navigate change and deliver meaningful outcomes. In this role, you will contribute to challenging technical assignments, lead defined planning tasks, and support airport master plans and on‑call planning engagements across the United States. As part of RS&H’s Aviation Consulting Services team, you will support airport clients nationwide through technical execution, collaboration across disciplines, and active participation in project delivery. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Planning, Aviation Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • 7 or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of airport planning principles, FAA guidelines, and airport or airfield geometry.
  • Experience contributing to airport master plans, on‑call planning efforts, or specialized aviation planning studies.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to support client engagement and prepare polished technical materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, and GIS software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Graphic layout skills, including Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, and or GIS, are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aviation planning analyses in support of airport master plans, on‑call planning assignments, airport layout plans, terminal and landside planning studies, and related technical efforts.
  • Lead discrete technical tasks or workstreams within larger planning projects, coordinating with internal team members under the guidance of a project director.
  • Prepare technical documentation, memoranda, exhibits, and presentations that clearly communicate planning concepts and recommendations.
  • Apply FAA guidance, airport planning standards, and industry best practices to assigned tasks with growing independence.
  • Participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations in a supporting role.
  • Collaborate across planning, engineering, environmental, architecture, and GIS disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support proposal development efforts through technical content development, resumes, and project descriptions.
  • Provide informal technical guidance and task‑level support to junior staff, as appropriate, under supervision.
