About The Position

Assists other mechanics by cleaning, greasing, and oiling company vehicles. Repairs or replaces parts on vehicles and equipment as instructed. Assists and performs preventive maintenance on company vehicles, equipment, and specialized equipment, as assigned. Realigns front end and balances wheels. Assists automotive mechanics in servicing and repair of heavy equipment. Assists in cleaning the shop and surrounding areas. Removes or disassembles worn parts. Uses Authority-owned equipment in a manner which subjects it to normal wear and tear only. Performs other related duties assigned or required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED certificate.
• 6 - 12 months experience in automotive/mechanical repairs.
• Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards
• Valid Driver's License, CDL Learner's Permit or CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle record review).
• Required to obtain a CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement within (6) months from date of employment.
