About The Position

Xcite is seeking an Automotive Recondition Manager for partner dealers in Columbia, SC. This role requires a strong leader who can manage day-to-day operations, coordinate staff, ensure quality standards, and maintain efficiency across the reconditioning process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has proven experience managing reconditioning operations in an automotive setting. Compensation is based on experience and negotiable.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience in automotive reconditioning, service, or detail operations.
  • 3+ years of detailing, or reconditioning services
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, and motivate teams.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, workflow, and department efficiency.
  • Hands-on knowledge of detailing processes, reconditioning, and cosmetic repair standards.
  • Proficiency with inventory management and operational oversight.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing reconditioning operations at a dealership or auto auction.
  • Knowledge of vendor negotiation and third-party service management.
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) or reconditioning software.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
  • Background in automotive detailing (interior, exterior, paint correction, polishing, buffing).
  • Experience in body shop operations, paintless dent repair (PDR), wheel repair, or interior repair.
  • Previous responsibility for payroll, budgeting, or cost management.
  • Customer-facing experience in a dealership or automotive service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the reconditioning department including detailing, cosmetic repairs, inspections, and vehicle readiness.
  • Supervise and lead a team of technicians, detailers, and support staff.
  • Develop schedules, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to maximize efficiency.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure dealership standards are met or exceeded.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate outsourced services as needed.
  • Monitor labor costs, supplies, and equipment to maintain profitability.
  • Collaborate with dealership management on process improvements and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Track, report, and analyze reconditioning performance metrics.
