Role Summary: The Accounting/Warranty Clerk position is responsible for accurately reviewing, and maintaining accounting schedules, enrollments/cancellations, ensuring timely refunds, and supporting internal/external stakeholders with accurate financial data.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, ethical, good customer relations, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational, communication (written & verbal), and computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of AP/AR, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • All applicants must demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (Accounting, CDK, Tikion, or similar) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Cancellation Processing: Review, verify, and process warranty/contract cancellation requests, ensuring all required documents are complete.
  • Refunds & Payments: Calculate and issue refund checks to customers or lienholders, or post credit memos.
  • Accounting Schedules: Maintain accurate schedules for warranty receivables, contract liabilities, and pending cancellations.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve processing gaps.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input financial data and post transactions.
  • Reporting: Assist with month-end closing, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Communication: Respond to customer inquiries and collaborate with service managers or other departments for required information.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies, accounting procedures, and documentation requirements.
