Automotive Accountant – Columbus Ohio Expanding automotive network seeks accounting staff to fill immediate opening at recently acquired dealership. Prior automotive experience is required; Dealertrack DMS and/or Ohio title experience is a definite plus. Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills are required. Strong computer and data input skills with a high degree of accuracy, and knowledge of Microsoft applications. Dealertrack DMS experience would be a plus but is not required as we provide training. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills and attention to detail. A proven track record of being an excellent teammate with a collaborative attitude and eagerness to improve. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision or as an effective member of a work team while maintaining attention to task. Available to work full time Monday through Friday during the hours of 7 am to 5 pm Duties and responsibilities: Performs activities involved in the maintenance and control of the general ledger. Reviews and/or initiates and posts journal entries; monitors posted financial data; researches and reviews transactions; and advises departments on proper coding. Evaluates internal controls of systems and works cooperatively to provide recommendations for improvement to create greater compliance, transparency, and/or efficiencies. Assists in the development of financial reports. Works across departments to identify discrepancies in information of a financial nature for the purpose of resolving process issues and ensuring accuracy. Responsible for maintaining detailed and complete accounting records to ensure accuracy of general ledger and audit compliance. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by members of management.
