About The Position

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems. The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall Operations portion of the Automation Department including Operations and Production. The Operations Manager is apart of the Automation Management Team and works to achieve the Team goals of increasing productivity and lowering cost while maintaining a great culture. The Operations Manager shall also work toward providing and maintaining technical support and assisting with the sales effort.

Requirements

  • BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the various disciplines of the Automation Business such as Sales, Engineering, Operation, Production and Training.
  • Must have an understanding of Mechanical Systems and the application of controls to the various systems.
  • Must have strong communications capabilities.
  • Must be proficient at Word, Excel, Visio and Project.
  • Must have an understanding and a commitment to EMCOR's safe working practices.
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the production schedule is being maintained with the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage procurement, programming and commissioning standards and processes.
  • Review and audit job and department cost vs. budget.
  • Perform customer support in conjunction with account managers and Technicians.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of processes to increase productivity, including, but not limited to:
  • Sales Estimating Procedures
  • Engineering Procedures
  • Operational Procedures
  • Production Procedures
  • Safety Procedures
  • Training Procedures
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure the accuracy of pricing and proposals.
  • Work with the Automation Management team to develop and maintain a file structure for Job information that includes all aspects of the job, such as Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and Close-out.
  • Work with the Dispatch Team to ensure that the appropriate personnel are being dispatched on Service issues and Maintenance agreements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent customer service during service and projects execution.
  • Work with the Automation Management Team to establish the needs of the department and the methods to satisfy those needs.
  • Work with the Automation Management Team to develop career paths and training paths.
  • Work with the Automation Management Team to develop metrics to measure the progress in achieving the goals and objectives for each of the various initiatives within the Department.
  • Work with the Automation Management Team to develop consistent, workable methods of production to streamline the production process, increase productivity, increase quality and reduce costs.
  • Provide any assistance required in any of the areas of business including sales, engineering, operation, production, and training on an as-needed basis.
  • Work closely with all operations, maintaining Mesa culture.
