About The Position

Our client is a leading organization in the government services/technology space (State of Virginia), committed to delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. They are seeking an experienced Automation Manager to lead their automation strategy and drive quality engineering excellence. As an Automation Manager , you will lead and manage the QA automation team, define automation strategies, implement best practices, and ensure delivery of high-quality software. You’ll be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of automated testing using Selenium and related tools, driving continuous improvement across QA processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 6+ years of hands-on test automation experience.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role within QA/Test Automation.
  • Strong expertise with Selenium WebDriver (Java, Python, or C# implementations).
  • Experience leading automation within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
  • Proven experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and QA processes.
  • Experience with source code/version control (Git).
  • Familiarity with automated test reporting tools and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA automation engineers.
  • Define and implement a robust automation testing strategy aligned with software delivery goals.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Dev, Product, PM, DevOps) to integrate automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Plan and prioritize automation efforts based on risk, business value, and delivery schedules.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to optimize testing processes.
  • Drive test automation best practices, standards, and metrics reporting.
  • Provide clear reporting on automation health, coverage, and quality metrics.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing automation suites.
  • Support performance, regression, integration, and UI testing.
  • Ensure compliance with security and accessibility standards as required by the client.
  • Act as Technical Lead for QA automation initiatives, guiding solution decisions.
