Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in database engineering, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation roles.
  • Strong experience delivering automation for relational and/or NoSQL database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Kafka.
  • Hands-on expertise with scripting and automation frameworks such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD concepts, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and automated deployment patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of observability tooling and operational monitoring design.
  • Experience managing backup/recovery solutions, patching pipelines, and automated lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and collaborate across engineering and business groups.
  • Excellent communication skills and passion for building scalable, reliable, self-service platforms.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of automation and self‑service capabilities for enterprise database platforms.
  • Own the roadmap for services including provisioning, lifecycle management, patching and upgrade automation, backup and recovery orchestration, and automated compliance controls.
  • Champion observability by delivering monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance visibility solutions across database environments.
  • Build and evolve frameworks for standardized access control and least privilege automation.
  • Partner with database engineering, infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Establish architectural standards, reusable tooling, and automation best practices.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a technical team focused on reliable and scalable platform engineering.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to reduce toil and increase platform efficiency.
