Automation Engineer Intern

About The Position

The intern will be tasked with the design and assembly of automation cells. This project involves working with engineering and operations to define automation cell requirements, generate designs for mechanical and electrical systems, assemble automation cells, and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for delivery. The background of this project is that Chromalloy is initiating automation initiatives and seeks an intern to gain practical experience in industrial automation, applying skills learned at university. The scope includes defining requirements, designing mechanical and electrical systems, assembling cells, and supporting FAT/SAT. Deliverables include mechanical and electrical designs, technical documents such as manuals and work instructions, and final reports on cell performance post FAT/SAT.

Requirements

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar Engineering area of study
  • Mechanical Design skills and knowledge
  • Electrical Design skills and knowledge
  • PLC Programming skills and knowledge
  • Python coding skills and knowledge
