We are seeking multiple Auto Title Technicians to join our various Motor Vehicle offices. The Auto Title Technician is responsible for assisting the public with titling and registering vehicles. Processes legal records and collects taxes and fees for motor vehicle titles and registrations. Determines accuracy and completeness of required information and documents surrendered for processing. Determines proper registration and plates and permits to issue. Verifies that transactions and vehicles adhere to regulations. Responds to phone inquiries regarding titling and registration. Collects fees and reconciles funds daily. Please note, we have multiple vacancies at different locations, including Golden, Littleton, Lakewood and Arvada. SCHEDULE: This position requires on-site/in-office work and operates on a 4-day workweek. Must be available to occasionally work at any of the five Motor Vehicle branch locations and align with their operating schedules: Littleton: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 am-5:30 pm Golden, Lakewood, Arvada: 7:15 am – 5:45 pm

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience in data entry, basic ten key, cashiering, customer service and auto titling and registration using the County or State DRIVES system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle shall have a Colorado Driver’s license within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking ability is preferred, however not required. Jefferson County Motor Vehicle has a policy to additionally compensate workforce members who are able to demonstrate bilingual language skills.
  • One to two years of County Motor Vehicle or State Department of Revenue experience, and one year experience with DRIVES in government, high public contact, and/or handling cash professionally is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience with high volume face to face customer contact.
  • Ability to explain complex rules and regulations to customers who may be unfamiliar with or challenge the statute driven requirements for fees.
  • Ability to problem solve by utilizing resources/researching to find solutions that are best for the customer.
  • Background as a bank teller, retail sales associate, or related profession typically do well in this role.
