Job Description Responsible for creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. This role is utilized as a peer mentor having mastered our processes and obtained technical expertise. This role is a field position in CT serving primarily the central portion of the state both coastal and inland. National General is seeking an Auto Field Damage Appraiser to join our Connecticut Claims team. This is a remote, territory‑based role that manages claims both virtually and in the field. The ideal candidate will be located in Connecticut, residing in or near Lyme, Old Lyme, East Lyme, New London, or Groton. Candidates for this role bring experience managing a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and utilizing CCC ONE estimating software to produce accurate damage estimates. This role works closely with repair facilities and customers to ensure timely, fair, and thorough claim resolution. Responsibilities

  • Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files
  • Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
  • Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities
