About The Position

The Autism Technician provides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism, following a directed treatment plan. This role involves active participation as a treatment team member, including attending meetings, providing feedback on patient progress, and sharing observations. Key responsibilities also include documenting patient care, reporting adverse reactions to supervisors, and contributing to performance improvement activities. The technician is required to maintain current de-escalation training and apply these techniques daily. Requirements

  • Must complete 40 hours of specified orientation on autism and application of techniques.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
  • Managing Threatening Confrontations Certified (on the job training) within 90 days.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism as directed in the treatment plan.
  • Participates as a treatment team member by attending meetings, providing feedback about patient progress, and sharing impressions of patient status.
  • Documents observations and care provided in the medical record.
  • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider.
  • Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain current de-escalation training and utilize de-escalation techniques on a daily basis.
