About The Position

We are looking for an authorizations RN for diagnostic testing for Congestive Heart Failure, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiology. The nurse will be responsible for verifying patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements. Request, track, and obtain pre-authorizations from insurance carriers within specific time frames. Request follow ups and secure prior authorizations prior to services being performed. Document all pending and authorized referrals in patient EMR. In addition to the authorization role, the nurse would double as a clinic RN for cardio-oncology and general cardiology clinic up several per month. This role would include rooming, medication reconciliation and medication refills, vitals, EKG and scheduling all outpatient imaging. Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, high proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• RN - must be graduate from an accredited school of nursing and hold an NC license or compact license
• Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology
• High proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations

Nice To Haves

• Epic EMR and insurance knowledge preferred
• Cardiology experience is preferred
