Position Summary: The Authorizations Clerk will verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date. Will complete and submit authorization requests to third-party payers, ensuring that all data elements (such as CPT codes and diagnosis codes) are included. Will communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Will maintain accurate records of all authorization requests, documenting approvals and denials, and following up on outstanding authorizations to ensure timely decisions.
Nice To Haves
- Prefer prior experience in medical billing, collections, insurance or coding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Bilingual-English-Spanish preferred.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
