About The Position

Facilitates early detection, prompt referral and early habilitation of infants with hearing loss. Are you passionate about early childhood development and interested in a career in communication disorders or speech-language pathology? We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Hearing Screening Assistant, conducting newborn hearing screenings in a hospital setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates pursuing degrees in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, or related fields to gain hands-on experience in a clinical environment while making a meaningful impact in the lives of families.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of work experience in a health-related field or early childhood development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts newborn hearing screenings per established protocols under the direction of a supervising Audiologist
  • Operates OAE and other designated equipment to conduct hearing screening on neonates and pediatric patients.
  • Completes required documentation, parent education, and follow up, including referrals and tracking
