About The Position

This position is part of our Extended Season , requiring availability from early May through the first week of January 2027. Applicants must be able to commit to working during this entire time frame. This position is available for those ages 18+. We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. The right Theater Technician Supervisor candidate will include equal parts curious learner, team player, innovator, and motivator. This role exists to provide the Entertainment Department with a quality sound and lighting technician and to bridge the gap between artists/bands/performers and our team. The ideal candidate will be able to display Leading with Love qualities by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role preferred
  • Experience working with professional audio and lighting equipment (up to and including 16-channel audio and Obsidian 64 Universe lighting controller, Allen & Heath systems, including SQ6 and QU16 mixers, and Lightkey/Qlab show controls) or similar preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Ensure that all performers are adhering to the park's safety protocols.
  • Manage relationships with performers and vendors.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating Sound Waves Stage booked entertainment offerings by managing set up and tear down of sound and lighting equipment, maintining artist backstage and break areas in a neat and orderly manner, restocking artist refreshments, ensuring compliance with artist performance riders, maintaining a high-quality entertainment experience and ensuring that all other entertainment-related areas are clean and presentable.
  • Ensure that all performers are adhering to the park's safety protocols.
  • Manage relationships with performers and vendors.
  • Assist with other tasks in Entertainment Department as needed including but not limited to running sound and lights for other theaters and venues for department, following the day to day entertainment schedule and assisting as needed, cataloguing equipment and its condition and set up/tear down of other shows.
  • Teaching Entertainment staff run of show and ensuring all staff are following SOP’s
  • Promote a positive and efficient work environment
  • Complete or delegate all opening and closing tasks
  • Provide support and assistance to Entertainment management as needed
  • Conduct breaks per park policy and Kentucky law
  • Address and resolve team member and guest concerns.
  • Understand and follow all Entertainment departmental SOPs
  • Assist team members with any questions or guest concerns that they encounter.
  • Make appropriate determinations for show cancellations with guidance from Senior Supervisor and Entertainment Manager
