About The Position

The Athletics Marketing Assistant will assist in the development, coordination and execution of marketing plans for assigned varsity sports to drive attendance and revenue. This position is expected to be at all home events for their respective assigned sports. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1). The role involves assisting in event marketing, planning and implementation, developing game-day promotions, and assisting with preparation of game-day public address scripts and execution of in-game promotions. The assistant will also help with planning and coordinating outside group attendance at athletic events, assist in the creation and development of in-game video board content, and coordinate appearances by Bruno (the mascot). Additionally, the position supports traditional marketing initiatives including social media, email, and grassroots efforts, capturing and creating content/messaging for these initiatives. All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations, and the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Perform duties in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League rules and regulations
  • Report any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division to the compliance office and appropriate parties
  • Successful completion of a background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown

Responsibilities
