This job profile includes all seasonal employees of all levels, except for Crossing Guards. The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department (APR) provides, protects and preserves a park system that promotes quality recreational, cultural and outdoor experiences for the Austin community. Working with the City of Austin provides a number of health and welfare benefits, such as medical, paid leave time, a great retirement plan, training opportunities and more! These purpose of the Seasonal – Athletic Official II position will be to officiate Youth, Teen, Adult Sport Leagues, and Sport Specific Clinics at various City of Austin Recreation Centers and at the Krieg Multi-Purpose Field. All officiating/referee experience must be listed in the employment record of your application including league name. Volunteer officiating/referee experience may be included and should be listed in the employment record on your application to be considered. Days and hours vary depending on league play/seasonal needs but average between 15 – 30 hours per week. Variable schedule, 15 to 30 hours per week. Saturday – Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.; schedule will vary. Programming hours vary at each worksite. May be required to work during special events and programming needs. May be required to work during city emergencies such as extreme weather events.
