About The Position

Evansville Christian School exists to empower students to embrace a Biblical worldview through spiritual and academic growth, servant-leadership, and authentic relationships in the name of Jesus Christ. The Athletic Department at Evansville Christian School plays a critical role in the implementation of the school’s ministry. Athletics at ECS is another platform for the school to honor God and for students to grow in their faith. Athletic Department personnel share in the responsibility of leading and coordinating our ECS athletic community according to the Word of God. It is the desire of ECS Athletics to be a highly visible platform to display Christian character. Our teams play to win, but more importantly to glorify God. The Athletic Department Coordinator supports the Athletics Department and Student Activities by serving as secretary and treasurer, and by assisting in meeting the needs of the coaching staff. This position will be responsible to understand the essential functions and responsibilities of the Director of Athletics. This person should be willing to assist or individually carry out the duties, included but not limited to those listed below as directed by the Athletic Director.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate records, including team rosters, event programs, and other necessary documentation. (I.E. Final Forms and other school/ family communication)
  • Answering inquiries, taking messages, and directing calls. (e.g., Parent Square, phone calls, emails, etc.).
  • Typing, preparing reports, distributing mail, and other clerical work.
  • Organizing and Facilitating Athletic Department events. (e.g., Season ending banquets, Collegiate Athletics signings, etc.).
  • Scheduling travel for teams and coordinating food where appropriate. (e.g. Arranging transportation, communication with transportation drivers, communicating with the appropriate school administration for any early release times /dates).
  • Coordinating with Advancement and Communications for the distribution of Athletic Department news and information.
  • Selling tickets for school events in collaboration with the Business Office.
  • Entering and maintaining data related to athletics. (e.g. Final Forms)
  • Coordinating with the Business Department to ensure money boxes are prepared and reported for each host event.
  • Assisting the AD in maintaining the budget spreadsheet.
  • Coordinating hospitality rooms, banquets, and other athletic-related events, . (e.g. season ending banquets, Kiwanis Club, etc.).
  • Coordinating the setup and execution of all Athletic events and staffing for those events if necessary.
  • Coordinating worker scheduling and assisting with the maintenance of concession stand supplies.
  • Taking advantage of opportunities to improve skills.
  • Maintaining regular attendance for the school day work schedule.
  • Helping with event coverage in specific instances but not as a regular part of the job.
  • Other duties not specified here as needed and directed by the Athletic Director.
