This position is responsible for liaising directly with UFC athletes to ensure that their fight-week needs are met and that the host hotel environment is properly prepared according to each athlete’s specific needs. The Athlete Relations Manager will oversee the scheduling and coordination of athletes’ event week appearances and will ensure that athletes arrive to all designated and required appearances, including commission meetings, weigh-ins, and the event itself. The position will also work directly with broadcast partners on stage management for the live event, ensuring all athletes are prepared to enter the Octagon on time. The Athlete Relations Manager will oversee a team of coordinators, managing their schedules, and job duties. Manages and directs Athlete Relations Coordinators, including scheduling, job assignments, event night roles, as well as payroll and expense reports. Oversees and maintains the professional development of Athlete Relations Coordinators through goal-setting, recruitment, orientation, training, and performance management. Manages logistics of athlete arrivals and departures to and from event city. Acts as onsite emergency contact and liaison for all athletes and camps during fight week. Ensure athletes’ compliance with venue-specific policies and troubleshoot any deviations from these policies. Lead regular team meetings and briefings with host hotel, transportation vendors, UFC staff, and other key event staff to direct the flow of logistics for UFC events. Manages event supplies for weigh in and fight night. Coordinates with the Athletic Commissions on fight night schedules and room assignments. Manages athletes for all required appearances throughout the week. Oversees the preparation of behind-the-scenes equipment, including water, towels, gloves, corner-man buckets, workout room, etc. Manages athletes for weigh-ins and works with them to ensure they meet weight. Oversees all athlete transportation for weigh-ins and event. Manages event venue room allocations and space assignments for the entire company. Liaises between athletes and live event TV stage managers to ensure athletes are placed correctly for live TV feed. Other tasks, projects, and duties as needed. These tasks may include but are not limited to: working in the warehouse, loading event trucks, and assisting with Octagon.
