The successful candidate will be responsible for R10, Paper Machine operations, he/she will carry out responsibilities to ensure optimal operations of the Paper machine, while meeting all operational requirements in the most efficient, economical, and safest manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or Pulp & Paper Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in pulp and paper manufacturing or heavy industrial operations.
  • Working knowledge of papermaking processes, production management, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with process control systems, CMMS, and Lean/TPM methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations, policies, and safe work practices.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational reliability.
  • Exposure to machine troubleshooting, downtime reduction, and outage planning.
  • Basic experience with budget tracking, planning, and cost awareness.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value by actively supporting and reinforcing the safe execution of work across all North Mill operations.
  • Assist the Superintendent with the implementation and oversight of the North End organizational and operational structure.
  • Support consistent safety compliance and clean production practices across assigned areas.
  • Help establish and reinforce clear expectations, accountability, and recognition in alignment with Superintendent direction.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational systems, including PVR, ODR, MWS Scheduling, TCCs, and the MI Database.
  • Support the execution and tracking of IAP initiatives to drive continuous improvement in the North Mill.
  • Participate in developing strategic operational plans and support execution of defined priorities.
  • Identify technical and resource gaps and escalate recommendations to the Superintendent.
  • Assist with planning, forecasting, and monitoring of direct and indirect costs for the North Mill.
  • Provide leadership coverage as needed and support cross-functional coordination with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Safety, and HR.
  • Serve as a visible leadership presence on the floor, reinforcing standards and supporting frontline supervisors.
