Associate/Vice President, Principal Trader
About The Position
We are looking for a Trading Associate/Vice President to join our Principal Trading team. You will be an active member in our Central Principal Risk division, working closely with senior management, focusing on execution, analysis, principal risk management, daily market research and portfolio construction. You will cover products including crypto, crypto derivatives, equity, equity derivatives, fixed income, futures, and commodities products. You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working closely with operations, legal and business stakeholders to solve complex problems. This position is based in New York, NY and is fully in-office.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from relevant US or Foreign University.
- 3+ years of relevant experience at a financial institution, focusing on equity markets, securities, or capital markets. Experience representing financial technology companies or financial services companies a plus.
- Experience in trading derivative securities on an institutional scale.
- Strong analysis background for evaluating securities and crypto tokens from a fundamental basis.
- Understanding of Bloomberg, market standard EMS/OMS Systems, settlement mechanisms, coding ability preferred.
- Personable, with ability to navigate team dynamics.
- Strong understanding of, or desire to become familiar with, U.S. securities laws and regulations (e.g., Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Regulation NMS, Regulation ATS and FINRA rules).
- Structured, intellectually curious, agile, and able to balance risk with commercial priorities.
- Collaborative, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional relationships and work seamlessly with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Work daily with portfolio managers and risk managers on best execution and position management.
- Actively monitor relevant market news across single name, industry, regulatory and political sources.
- Take informed opinions on existing risks and positions.
- Provide research and analysis on various crypto, equity and macro catalysts as well as propose original ideas.
- Work cross functionally with various internal stakeholders including Operations, FP&A, Central Treasury, Risk and Franchise to insure efficient and timely desk deliverables.
